The “Cease-And Desist” is the newest offering from Privada Cigars and industry disrupter Brian Desind is calling it a Semi-Limited Release. CNT had to sit down with him and see what that meant.
“I had so many Cease-and-Desist letters coming in I decided to start using them for labels on cigars. We took an entire shipping container of legal correspondence from various cigar manufacturers to the band printers and had them start cutting the documents into bands for these fantastic cigars.
But just what the heck is a Semi-Limited Release? We asked Brian. It turns out that Brian has so much legal paperwork he is able to make tens of thousands of Cigar Bands, thus not really a “Limited Release”, but “Semi-Limited”. “I will never stop doing what I do, so these will probably be a regular production. I don’t mind the haters providing me with bands for my cigars, I will pass that savings on to the customer,” Brian told CNT.
The real kick is that each box of 19 cigars includes one for free. It will have the logo from the manufacturer’s letterhead, who sent the correspondence to Brian as the band. “We are not selling it. They gave it to us, and we are just passing it along to a valued customer.” “You never know. You may even find a phone number or email address on a band. Do with that what you will.”
