On Wednesday night Drew Estate announced a new project with famed money-hungry speed metal band, Metallica. Blackened M81, which is named after the bands founding year, is slated for a December release.
We here at CNT are fans of gimmicks, money grabs, gas station marketing, so naturally we reached out to both JD abd JH for comment.
Drew Estate’s Jonathon Drew told us, “It’s Metallica! I hate their music, I usuallu opt for late 80’s and 90’s hip hop like Vanilla Ice, Gerardo, or Snow; but I’m a fan of anyone who takes miney from their fans. I based DE’s entire business model on how Metallica handled Napster.” JD continued, “Look, I don’t even smoke cigars, but I know what’ll sell.”
James Hetfield, frontman for Metallica, told CNT, “There isn’t another Napster to sue and Lars [the band’s drummer] needs more shitty art. We’ve screwed the fans, we’ve screwed Newsted, we’ve screwed whiskey drinkers, and now it’s time to screw cigar smokers.” Hetfield finished the interview by asking us for for bus fare.
