Habanos S.A.s Plan to Revitalize its Cuban Soil
Habanos S.A. may have come up with a solution to return their tobacco farms’ soils to their former glory.
They have entered into an agreement with Gurkha, a former cigar manufacturer (full story here), to purchase hundreds of thousands of unsold cigars. These cigars will be ground down and spread over the tobacco farms across Cuba.
“It is a win-win for both of us. Gurkha gets to unload a bunch of cigars that no one was buying anyway, and Cuba gets to attempt to acquire some nutrients from some of the best cigar-growing regions in the world,” Gurkha and Habanos said in a joint release.
It seems like another crazy plan if you ask us at Cigar News Today, but hey, it can’t hurt.
