Drew Estate announced their new “Pickle Back” will start shipping to select retailers in October. According to a press release from Drew Estate, “It is the logical next step after the Pappy Van Winkle.” The Pickle Back will also be the first Candela Puro ever manufactured.
The Pickle Back is fermented in used Vlasic pickle barrels, just like the Pappy Van Winkle is fermented in used whisky barrels. “Who doesn’t love a pickle back to their shot?” said every trust fund frat boy.
We reached out to Drew Estate for comment. Jonathon Drew himself responded, “I am super excited about this launch; I have personally selected each and every one of the candela leaves that goes into these cigars. It is also an homage to my New York roots and buying pickles straight out of the barrels there.”
